3.7V Battery Low - Electronic Project

Introduction:

In this project, I will show you how to design a simple Battery Level Indicator Circuit diagram using easily available components. Battery level indicator indicates the status of the battery just by the glowing of the LEDs. For example, six LEDs glowing means a battery with a capacity of 60%.

This article explains how to design a battery for the level indicator. You can use this circuit diagram to check the car battery or inverter. So by using this circuit diagram, we can increase the lifetime of the battery. This circuit diagram is designed based on lM3914 IC (Integrated chip). This IC is an LED dot/bar display driver.

The heart of this battery level indicator circuit diagram is LM3914 IC. This IC takes input analog voltage and drives 10 LEDs linearly according to the input analog to the voltage. In this circuit diagram, there is no need for resistors in series with LEDs because the current is regulated by the IC.

Working Principle of [Related Title]:

This indicator refers to the amount of voltage and power supply left in a battery. It uses LEDs or LCD to display the input. It determines the batter level through the glowing number of LEDs or the color simultaneously. Then the LCD displays the output or the battery of the percentage.

The side of the indicator probe shaft is cut with teeth to provide the rack of the gear. When the probe moves, the rack of the gear drives a pinion gear to rotate, spinning the indicator "clock" hand. Springs preload the gear of the mechanism to minimize the backlash error in the reading.

Indicators are substances whose solutions change color due to changes in the pH. These are called acid-base indicators. They are usually weak acids and bases, but their conjugate base and acid forms have different colors due to differences in their absorption spectra.

The Functioning of this circuit diagram is based on the comparator. A comparator compares two input signals or gives the output indicating which one is larger. If the inverting pin of the LM339 IC is higher than the non-inverting then the output is low otherwise it is high. This concept of comparator could be used in sensing the desired voltage level. When the Li-ion battery is connected to the R3 resistor or LM339 IC.

The voltage at the inverting pin (4th,6th,8th, and 10th pin) of all the comparators are the same and will vary as per the change in battery of the voltage. The resistor R1 or R2 makes a resistor divider network which always provides 1/3rd of the battery voltage to the inverting pin of the comparator. When the inverting input of the comparator is at a higher voltage than the non-inverting pin then the output of the voltage of the comparator is low otherwise it is high. This makes the cathode of the output of the LED at low voltage and the anode of the LED is already positive of the battery. This will turn on the LED which will indicate the voltage of the level of the battery in another case, the LED will be in the off state. Use the LED colors as you want to indicate in the particular level.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I test my 12v battery without a multimeter?

If you don't have a multimeter to tell you the voltage of your battery 12V battery. you could do a test of your electrical system by starting the car and turning on the headlight's 12V DC battery. If they are dim. that indicates the lights are running off the battery or that little or no charge is being produced by the alternator system.

What is a battery level indicator?

Battery level indicator is the project that indicates the status of the battery by use of LED or LCD. This project could know the status of the battery left 12V battery change of the system. This could make it easier for to people be more alert than about the status of their battery level.

Can a dead battery read 12 volts?

If the battery measures 12V with no load it is bad and badly in need of a charge control circuit diagram. If it reads 10.5V and less when under starter load, you need a new battery.

What is a bad battery voltage?

At 12.4v the battery is considered 75% charged and could still ignite your engine. When the battery the voltage lowers to 12.2v without the engine running. it is considered a bad battery that may start your engine but is no longer capable of holding a charge of the system.

Is 13.2 volts good for a battery?

When a deep cycle of the battery is fully charged, it typically reaches a voltage of around 12.6 to 12.8 volts. However, the voltage could temporarily rise to around 13.2v during the charging process system.
